Heels
Sundays
in Studio 1 at WAPA
(5 - 3948 Quadra St) 4:30 - 5:30 pm
These classes consist of a warm-up, conditioning, heels dance choreography, and a cool down. This class builds on the same choreography throughout the seven week session and students will have the option to perform in our end of session show (filmed by our videographer). As this is an open-level class, choreography will be tailored to students individually based on their dance level.

Lyrical
Thursdays at Maple Leaf School of Russian Ballet
(310 Henry St) 7:00 - 8:00 pm
These classes consist of a warm-up, lyrical dance choreography, and a cool down. This class builds on the same choreography over the seven week period and students will have the option to perform in our end of session show (filmed by our videographer). As this is an open-level class, choreography will be tailored to students individually based on their dance level.
*Recommend taking the tech/conditioning drop-in on Sundays 6:30-7:30 at WAPA as a complimentary class - $25 drop-in fee OR $100 ($20/class) to register for 5-weeks (excludes week 1 & 7)*
Sass

Chair & Heels
Sundays in Studio 1 at WAPA

This seven week sessional class features a warm-up with conditioning specific to chair tricks and heels dance, choreography, and a cool down. Students will have the option to perform in our end of session show (filmed by our videographer). As this is an open-level class, choreography will be tailored to students individually based on their dance level.

The Heat Dance Crew
Thursdays at Maple Leaf School of Russian Ballet (310 Henry St) 8:00 - 9:30 PM
This is an open-level performance crew. Dance style varies based on the session. This group is the face of Canned Heat Dance Company out in the community and will perform more frequently than our sessional classes in events such as competitions, local markets, community events, and flash mobs. In exchange for the increased commitment level, students receive a reduced class rate of $65/month due on the 15th of each month and will be provided one costume piece for each choreography learned and performed. New intakes in January, June, September and November. Regardless of intake date, once registered, the student is committed to performing with the crew until the end of May. Introduction to the Pre-Professional Program
Sundays in Studio 1 at WAPA (#5 - 3948 Quadra St) 6:30 - 8:30 PM
This is a shortened version (7-weeks) of a program launching in January 2025 at Canned Heat. This is an intensive program for dancers of all levels who want to pursue a career in the entertainment industry or who want to advance their skills more quickly than is possible in the traditional adult dance class format. Students will be separated into three groups within class (1-beginner, 2-intermediate, and 3-advanced) and each student will be provided weekly individualized feedback and exercises to work towards improving their areas of weakness. Classes will generally feature 30 minutes of dancer specific conditioning, 30 minutes of technique drills, 45 minutes of choreography, and a 15 minute cool down. A student assessment will be conducted in weeks 1 and 6 and provided to students for them to see their progress over the course of the program. Students will be given the opportunity to perform in our Twisted Disney Magic end of session showcase in December (date TBD).
*Future program will include a production performance and one on one coaching (i.e. audition material review, choreography help, and more detailed training plans based on individual goals). This class will run in 4-month increments with intakes in January, May, and September.
**Unregistered students may drop-in to the first hour of class at the standard drop-in rate (in weeks 2-6 only).
Technique / Conditioning Drop-in
Sundays in Studio 1 at WAPA (#5 - 3948 Quadra St.) 6:30 - 7:30 PM
This class is designed for students who want to improve their dance technique but who do not want to register for the full length or introductory pre-professional program. Classes will consist of 30 minutes of dance specific conditioning meant to improve jumps and extensions, followed by 30 minutes of technique drills. There will be no cool down in these classes as students are dropping in to the Pre-Professional Company rehearsals which run until 8:30.
*Students registered in our sessional classes have the option to register for 5-weeks of drop-ins coinciding with their session at a reduced rate of $100 ($20/class)

Registration & Payment Process
Once you've chosen your class(es), you can register by:
Filling out the registration form on registration tab of the website.
You will then receive an email from cannedheatdanceco@gmail.com with amount owing.
E-transfers to be sent to the same email address.
Sessional class payments are due by the end of week 1.
FREE TRIALS
We start each of our seven week sessional classes with "free week" which means you can try any/all sessional class that week for free. This gives students the opportunity to try the classes/styles without having to commit to registering in advance. Claim your free trial by emailing cannedheatdanceco@gmail.com to secure your spot.
